How to water indoor flowers in a small space? Do you have to use a sprinkler or just water it well? I love flowers, they are gorgeous, so many colors, but I don't have the space to keep them. I'm guessing the best way would be to use a sprayer, but how much is necessary?

Also, is there a certain type of flower that is best for indoor use? Something that can withstand the heat?

I am very new to this stuff so excuse my ignorance. :)

Thanks for your help!

I have a container I can use for a small planter or pot, but I can't do that for a bed of plants. I want to try an indoor, hanging basket, but I was just thinking it may need too much water.

There are several things to consider. First, the size of your containers, the amount of water, and how long it takes for the flower to fill.

You want to keep your container (pot or hanging basket) at least a little moist, but not soggy. That's what allows water to pass through the soil, the root system, and the petals. If your water starts to soak into the pot and start to rot out your roots, that's the first sign that you have to figure out a different plan.

It's also worth noting that while your flowers will tolerate water, it's very important to keep them well fertilized.

Flowers will tolerate a lot of water. It is a good idea to put them in a bucket if you are going to let them get really soggy. My daughter was playing in the yard and it is a hot Texas summer. Her flowers were in a bucket with some dirt in it and she was standing in the sun for hours and her flowers grew so big.

You should water them by hand every two days or so. You can also let them dry out for a day or two, as long as it is not a very hot day.

Your container should stay well watered all the time. It is too hard to keep a watering can or hose nearby for that reason.

If you have a hanging basket, then you want to remember to water the roots at the bottom.

For your outdoor container, you want to be careful to keep the dirt layer moist and healthy. If your soil is sandy, then you may need to add some peat moss or other composted matter to it to make sure it doesn't get too dry.

If your soil is very sandy, you want to keep the pot on its side to keep the top soil from drying out.

Flowers are not as fussy about temperature as you might think. You don't have to wait until it is cold out to start watering. You can let them get a little warm or even hot in the summer.

You can even put a window in the house next to your garden in the wintertime to provide warm or hot air. Many houses even provide some sort of heating to the inside to keep plants warm.

Your container will naturally grow warm and hot in the summer. A window can warm your indoor garden a little.

You can add plants that are cold or wind loving, such as ferns, to your container garden in the wintertime. They will help insulate your garden from the cold winds.

As with any outdoor space, you want to make sure that you keep the container healthy. Your plants should be watered at least once every two or three days.

You want to keep the plants away from any pesticides, fungicides, or other chemicals if possible. It's best to stay away from any sort of chemical spray for any of your plants.

Your garden will dry out over time. You want to make sure that you keep the container as moist as possible at all times. Even in the wintertime you want to try to keep it slightly moist as it should keep the plants healthy.

You should only keep the soil as moist as a wrung-out sponge. You want it slightly heavier than water so it doesn't just drain away.

The only time you should really worry about the container drying out is when you are watering it. If you let it dry out, the roots can begin to dry out. This will cause the roots to stop growing.

Droughty weather can be deadly to plants. You don't want to start them off in a container that will cause them to wilt. If the weather gets too cold or too hot, you will want to find a different spot for the plant.

Plants that tend to overheat in the summer or cold in the winter are hardy. You don't want to move them if they aren't.

There are a lot of outdoor containers that you can buy. You can also find them at stores. Some are more durable than others. Some of them look nice, but the ones that are durable are more useful.

Don't be tempted to put your plant out in your driveway or on the ground to save money. There are so many things that can happen to the plant. The sun can get in there and it can burn the leaves. You can also get a bunch of snow in there. Don't be that person who kills your plants. You want to keep them around for a long time.

Don't overwater your plants in containers. Overwatering can rot your plants, and it will make your soil soggy. This will harm the plants and you. Water them when they are actually dry. If the soil is slightly damp it's best to keep it that way.

If you want to keep a certain type of plant together and get a nice shape, then you should find a large pot. Larger pots will help to hold the shape better and won't get distorted by the plant roots.

Many plants do better if the soil is rich. This ensures a plant has what it needs to grow healthily. Be sure to use a fertilizing product to keep the plant fed.

Tuck your plants in a bit. There is no reason to have them in the middle of the bed or be exposed to light. Instead, make sure they are sheltered from wind. This is a smart way to make sure that the plants stay alive and are able to thrive.

Take great care when selecting the type of plant you want to keep. If you do not know your plants' preferred growing conditions, you may not select one wisely. Look online at reviews and recommendations from other people.

To make your plants last longer, mulch them. A couple of inches of organic mulch can make your plants look great and add to their health. Mulch can also help insulate your plants so that they stay cooler in hot weather and cooler in cool weather.

There is no use in allowing your home to become a greenhouse if you intend to grow and sell your own plants. This will only cost you money and time. The best way to do this is to start with a few plants that are hardy and popular. Then, grow more of them to add variety and expand your sales.

You should keep you flower beds well-fertilized. Use all available fertilizer to help your plants grow in a strong manner. Your soil may need a bit of fertilizer to make it a healthy and inviting environment.

When plants start to show signs of pest damage, it's time to take your gardening to the next level. Use commercial products, but be careful to find a product that is non-toxic. Avoid using pesticides, and stick to using natural remedies to eliminate pests.

It's a wise investment to get more than one watering can. You should have
